AHHHH....Flying!!

So I'm sitting here in the the Detroit airport...completely bored I have to tell you! I have to tell you all one of my really bad habits when I fly...I never show up on time for my flights! You would think I would learn my lesson, but since I've never missed a flight...I keep on doing it:( I feel bad that I do this because I know I make extra work for the luggage people...I guess I'm assuming I do because they really seriously treat you like crap when you show up late! So do you want to know my timeline this morning? My flight was at 6:40am I arrived at the airport at 6:10am! Apparently they think that isn't enough time! I had to rush through security...which...well lets talk about security! That was a ton of fun! I waited for 20 minutes...and started to panic slightly when they started boarding my flight and I wasn't even close to the front of the line to get through security!! Finally...my turn and let me just tell you what this was like! No strip search or anything...but I wore a belt today, they really made me stand there and take my belt off, and then my jacket, and then my shoes and then I of course had to take my laptop out of my bag. It was a ton of fun...of course when you are in a hurry and they are making the last call for your plane as you are TAKING YOUR SHOES OFF it really adds a little bit of stress!! So thankfully I made it through without making the machine buzz!! PRAISE GOD! So as quickly as I could I shoved my laptop back in my bag slipped my black boots on grabbed my belt:) and jacket and walked quickly...nevermind zipping my boots up!! I did however stop when I got to the gate because I realized that I had a little bit of time and so I zipped my boots and yes I stood there in the middle of the airport and put my belt on and then I boarded the plane!!! Took a deep sigh of relief and then they shut the plane door just as I sat down!!! Nothing like making the plane wait!! So you might ask...will I show up the full 1 hour early the next time I fly...oh probably not...you see I didn't miss the plane and I got an extra 20 minutes of sleep this morning:)

Just thought I'd give you all a laugh today!! I just paid $8 for Internet access here at the Detroit airport...so I had to make it worth my while!!
